What is RESTYLANE? A natural beauty lift
Impressions of beauty change with time - as do our faces as we age. With RESTYLANE, you can have a natural beauty lift with the body's own material. RESTYLANE is a crystal-clear, non-animal, biodegradable gel based on a natural substance, called hyaluronic acid. The gel is injected into the skin in tiny amounts with a very fine needle. The result is instantaneous and produces a long-lasting, natural enhancement, gentle and safe to your skin.
Natural beauty. Made in Sweden RESTYLANE is made in Sweden, a nation known for health, nature and beauty. Since 1996, more than three million people have been successfully treated in more than 70 countries worldwide.
Designed to match your skin
RESTYLANE is available in three tissue-tailored variants, each specially designed for a particular different purpose and effect such as smoothing out tiny lines, shaping facial contours or sculpting lips to perfection. The difference between the products is the gel particle size. To achieve the optimal result, Karen our Clinical Nurse Practitioner chooses in consultation with you the product, or combination, that best matches your skin and personal needs.
- RESTYLANE is intended for wrinkle correction and lip enhancements.
- RESTYLANE Touch is used for correcting thin superficial lines, around the mouth, for example, forehead lines and smile lines.
- RESTYLANE Perlane can be used for shaping facial contours, such as cheeks and chin, correcting deep folds and for the volume augmentation of the lips.
Depending on the effects you wish to achieve, the initial treatment is best maintained with occasional follow-up treatments.
What are the contents of RESTYLANE?
RESTYLANE consists of 20 mg/ml of stabilised hyaluronic acid and physiological sodium chloride solution with a pH of 7. All RESTYLANE products are clear, transparent and viscous gels. The only difference between the products is the size of the gel particles. In contrast to other similar products, the hyaluronic acid in RESTYLANE is not produced from animals. This means that there is no risk of disease being transmitted or allergic reactions being elicited if you are sensitive to common foods, such as beef, chicken and eggs.
What is hyaluronic acid?
Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that is found throughout your body. It gives volume to the skin, lubricates the joints and gives the eyes their shape. The hylaluronic acid in RESTYLANE is stabilised for long duration and is not of animal or human origin.
How was RESTYLANE developed?
After many years of research, Dr Bengt Ågerup and the company Q-Med in Uppsala, Sweden, succeeded in developing a way of using a Non-Animal, Stabilised, Hyaluronic Acid to replace the loss of volume in the skin. The first application, RESTYLANE, was launched in 1996. Before this, only collagen made from cow hide and hyaluronic acid made from rooster combs had been available.
